Through raindrop-streaked windows, I see treetops reaching toward gray clouds, The highest trunks yielding healthy green domes. Scanning downward, some are cicada-stricken: Brown tips sagging limply. Pondering Life this Autumn Morning

Holly trees, pushing red berries, beckon squirrels to breakfast. Chirping cardinals on this cloudy morn. Deciduous trees beginning to bare hidden branches. Life cycling in and out. Here I sit in the middle of it all. Christ is mystery… And lovely! Squirrels busily bending branches to fill their bellies.
