Threshold

I sit in August stillness,

Lungs fill with the breath of Creation.

Night crickets finish their songs,

As waking bird calls greet the rising sun.

I listen to the symphony

Of the living community atop grass and tree canopies.

Indoors, I had slept all night.

Now sitting in the threshold of dawn,

We all belong.

Good morning!
