On a shepherd’s hook, under the tulip magnolia in my backyard hang two bird feeders. I enjoy peeking out the garage window to catch a glimpse of various birds partaking of the seed mix. More often than not, squirrels under the tree are eating the spilled seeds on the ground. A convenient breakfast!
This morning I needed to go out to the back yard. I slowly turned the doorknob, trying not to frighten any birds away. Three squirrels dispersed across the lawn, but another one jumped onto the tree trunk, and climbed upward to the branches above. Normally, squirrels who are on the tree when frightened will run down the trunk to scamper across the lawn, seeking safety in another yard.
This particular squirrel climbed to the highest branch and jumped to a neighboring tree to escape! How clever was she to use that dimension!
Lord, we sometimes live only in the physical dimension we’re used to, and often fall flat. Help us to also use the spiritual dimension to more fully experience your Love. May we look up and see endless possibilities!

This is very good. And I’ve seen a squirrel do that jump from tree to tree.
