Where’s the light?

Seeking light

Driving down the street one day in April, I spotted what most motorists probably failed to notice. As seen in the above photograph, an ordinary telephone pole support cable, wrapped in a yellow protective tube had an extraordinary story!

With early spring rains, new growth began, including weeds, of course! At the base of the cable, weeds found a way to push through a darkened, small cylindrical means to reach the light.

May we learn from this amazing sight that even in our darkest times, we search for the light of hope. We may have to go through confined darkness, but keeping our eyes on the light, we grow toward it, and emerge tall for all to see. Or, we can be the supporting cable to help others.

Observe and imitate lessons the Universal Christ gives us through nature. It’s truly amazing!

Wow!
